Your email and subscription
Social Stories is published by Storybook Studio. We use your email to verify reading access and deliver the newsletter you request. Newsletter preferences are stored separately from book purchases; joining does not enroll you in a separate book marketing list.
Character maker photo privacy
The free character maker subscribes you to Social Stories’ weekly emails and occasional offers. We record that you joined through the character maker so we can follow up with relevant messages. No separate account is created.
Your photo stays in your browser until you request generation. We process it in memory and send it to OpenAI to create your character, then return the generated image directly to your browser. We do not save the photo or character in our database, file storage, or a public gallery. Save or share your character before closing or refreshing the page; we cannot retrieve it for you later.
OpenAI may retain image inputs and outputs for abuse monitoring under its own policies. Our no-saved-copy promise describes our service, not zero retention by every processor. OpenAI’s data policies explain its processing. We keep your email, signup permission and source, and basic generation activity such as completion or failure. We do not include your pictures in analytics or use them for advertising. Sharing sends only the generated image to the destination you choose; your original photo is not included.
Your reader preferences
If you answer our optional reader survey, we keep your broad interests with your Social Stories subscription to guide future stories. You can change those answers from your account. We do not use the survey to enroll you in another list or send your answers to an ad platform.
Our services and your choices
We use our existing hosting, Supabase database, and Resend email services. Account-wide email suppression can affect delivery across our shared sending account. You can unsubscribe using any newsletter’s footer, keep your reading access, or contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.
